There are high school bands from all over the country that come to NYC for the thanksgiving day parade, you can tell what a special day it is for them, everything is shiny and all the kids are focused. Really really cool.

two horns
Walking through Central Park in NYC you can hear some excellent music. Sure there is the odd pan flute trio dressed in peruvian ponchos, but there is also great jazz... these guys were playing Coltrane, and they were good. I can’t play one horn, and this guy is playing two.

happy birthday lucas
Happy Birthday to my youngest nephew, Lucas. Lucas turned 5 a couple of weeks back and he had a big party with lots of kids and grownups. I was lucky enough to get a little moment just as he got ready to blow out the candles. Modern technology is pretty amazing, this is a D90 at ISO 3200, I had to add noise to suite the mood, the original was too clean out of the camera.
