intact nest after the storm
The tropical depression off the coast of Florida combined with the tidal effects of a new moon created waves no one has ever seen in palm beach county. I have lived here for over 20 years, and I can never remember the water ever reaching this far inland on a tidal surge. Talking with other residents in the area there is a feeling of unique anxiety, as a result of global warming, we have literally lost 50 feet of beach overnight. With huge chunks of shoreline being displaced, one surfer was gazing down at a newly formed berm of sand. The shore was shifting minute to minute. Some turtle nests made it, some didn’t.

Bamboo texture used to create the above piece. I like to use bamboo quite a bit as an overlay. Textures are cool.
